What’s a utility-scale solar station?
A solar power plant or a utility-scale solar station is a large facility which generates electricity and feeds it to the grid while the consumer solar stations are designed to cover the consumers’ need first. In the energy ecosystem solar power plants play the same role as the hydro, thermo and nuclear power plants.
Actual regulations
Utility-scale solar station construction is a licensed business activity in Armenia. According to the 2018 regulation it’s allowed to build stations up to 5MW. The produced electricity should be sold to CJSC “Electric Networks of Armenia” at 23.864AMD/kWh (VAT excluded) tariff.
