The first solar bus stop is on in Yerevan. You can charge your cellphone or laptop while waiting for a bus. Such a bus stop is already deployes on Baghramyan avenue To stimulate sustainable energy usage PV panels were installed on two public bus stops in Yerevan within the “EU energy efficiency days in Armenia” project. The bus stops are located on Moskovyan street and Baghramyan avenue and allow free charging of cellphones. Each bus stop can charge up to 24 phones or tablets daily.

One of the chargers was first tested by the EU ambassador Piotr Svitalsky. He told that the PV panels will stay on the bus stops during 1 year and after given to other institutions like educational and others who need them.Previous Post
