“Shtigen Energy Systems” company has installed 237.6 kW solar powered (photovoltaic) station in “Getamej” poultry factory, which is the biggest roof solar station installed in Armenia till today. The project was funded by “ARMSWISSBANK” CJSC, within the recover energy project. By using the station is planned to produce more than 16 million drams of electricity annually, in result 160 tons of carbon dioxide emissions won’t be eliminated in the environment. Since the first month from installment of the station The amount of electricity generated by the company twice exceeds the monthly repayment of loan.

"Shtigen Energy Systems" company has installed 237.6 kW solar powered (photovoltaic) station in "Getamej" poultry factory, which is the biggest roof solar station installed in Armenia till today.

Funding was provided without additional deposit load, the acquired property was provided as a loan guarantee.
“Getamej” poultry farm has begun its activity in 1958 and during last 60 years has been formed and gained a high reputation as a thoroughbred selected and high quality poultry factory producing chicken meat.
“Getamej” poultry farm reopened in 2018 and set itself a task to raise production culture, which will definitely promote environmental protection, and of course to produce ecologically clean poultry meat. For this purpose, in parallel to the solar power station, which will provide about 60% of the company demand, in poultry farm is already working the system of getting hot water from solar energy. There are installed 15 pieces of 300 liters (4500 liters) of “Shtigen” solar water heaters. The water temperature in the thermosphere water heaters reaches boiling point temperature, which is very important for facilitating the process of separating feathers from poultry. This solar water heating system will generate at least 2 million drams annually (in case of heating electricity, it will generate 3 times more) and the environment won’t pollute up to 20 tons of lime gas.
