Shtigen Group and Telcell signed a memorandum today, starting cooperation within the framework of the Sunrise in Artsakh project. The goal of the project is to establish energy independence and security in Artsakh by using solar energy.
“This is a project of strategic importance, therefore I am glad that the range of our partners is expanding by involving a company that has adopted socially responsible behavior, such as Telcell,” says Hayk Shekyan, founding director of Shtigen Group.
With the cooperation between Shtigen Group and Telcell, it is possible to make donations for the implementation of the Sunrise in Artsakh project with Telcell terminals and Telcell Electronic Wallet.
“Telcell company, as a nation-wide payment operator, in addition to business activities, has always attached great importance to projects serving national goals, and whenever possible, we consider it our duty to contribute to such projects,” says Aram Azatyan, General Director at Telcell.
The Sunrise in Artsakh project, which started in April 2022, was initiated by the Shtigen Group․ As the first step, Shtigen Group donated 12 solar water heaters to various settlements in Artsakh, giving priority to the families of people who died in Artsakh wars, became disabled and to multi-child families. They will have free hot water in the next 20 years.
“By making solar technologies widely available in Artsakh, that is, by equipping every house and building with a solar panel and a water heater, we insure our compatriots from serious household problems caused by gas supply disruptions because of the enemy aggression,” emphasizes Hayk Shekyan, founding director of the Shtigen Group.
As part of the Sunrise in Artsakh project, Arevik children’s medical association in Stepanakert was also equipped with solar water heaters.
By winter, another 100 houses in Artsakh will have a solar water heater, ensuring constant hot water running for at least 2 decades and making water-heating utility costs as low as 0.
Shtigen Group was founded in 2011 with the aim of making saving and safe energy systems and technological solutions accessible to every inhabitant of the world.
Shtigen Group is one of the leaders of the RA solar energy market, one of the first 500 major taxpayers of RA.
