A few days ago, the opening ceremony of the largest rooftop photovoltaic station in Armenia took place. The solar stations belonging to the “Elite Shant” Group of Companies have a total photovoltaic capacity of about 1.3 MW, which makes them the largest rooftop PV installation in Armenia, located in the same geolocation. Total area of the station is 7004.7 square meters. The stations will produce 1,828,214 kWh electricity per year, which will be used to reduce the electricity consumption of the factories. From now on the wide range of sweets and ice creams of “Shant” brand will be produced and stored exclusively with energy obtained from the sun. The whole amount of saved electricity, which will make about 82 million AMD a year, is planned to be directed to the expansion of production.
“We made the decision to implement solar energy solutions in 2019, after which we started the process of selecting a supplier company. After a long search, we chose Shtigen based on several principles: an impressive portfolio with a large number of big projects, positive feedback from customers, many demanding corporate clients who have grown solar capacities over the years, and most importantly, a competent team. “As the investment will serve “Elite Shant” Group of Companies for more than a few decades, it was very important that the products, materials, fittings used were of the highest quality and in line with the best international standards, which was provided by Shtigen”,- when cutting the red ribbon, the head of the Group of companies said. The plants will reduce the volume of carbon dioxide emitted into the environment by about 800 tons per year, which is equivalent to the activity of 115-160 hectares of poplar forest.
